From Susan Elliott, Environmental Sustainability | Climate Protection Program, Charlottesville Dept. of Public Works:
Please join the conversation on Thursday, June 9, 5 PM – 7 PM for a virtual Community Workshop to discuss the City of Charlottesville’s Climate Vulnerability Assessment.
You are invited to the free workshop, hosted by the City’s Climate Protection Program. Register (https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZMpd-upqzIsG9aWIuoICV5QUr1XU-skRSmw) in advance of the workshop, and the Zoom link will be sent to your email.
The Climate Vulnerability Assessment assists our community to become more resilient to the top three identified climate hazards:
- An increase in the frequency, duration, and intensity of extreme heat
- Changing seasonal weather patterns
- Increasingly intense storms and flooding
We will review and build upon previous community input and begin to look ahead toward the climate adaptation planning process. We want to hear your questions, ideas, and thoughts regarding what needs protection and who can help in climate resilience.
