All of the businesses described here have some connection to our neighborhood and we are working hard to add as many businesses as possible asap.

Staying in our neighborhood, that is. La Michoacana is moving from its original location on East High Street to 508 Stewart Street (where Dominoes Pizza used to be). We commend the owners for their wisdom in staying in the Little High Neighborhood. The grand opening on Stewart Street is Monday, March 2, 2026, from 11am to 3pm and features lots of food specials and a live Mariachi Band from 12noon to 2pm.
Local artisans of all kinds will open their studio spaces to the public this Saturday and Sunday (11/8-11/9) from 10am to 5pm for the 2025 Artisans Studio Tour. Studios are located all over the city and the county, so please check the official artisans studio map to see what interests you. The event is so spread out that the official map isn’t set up to show the seven artisan studios in our neighbhorhood or within easy walking distance (studios 9-16 which make up the Central Region), so here they are (with most of the text shamelessly lifted from the 2025 Artisans Studio Tour website):
The Artisans Studio Tour takes place this coming weekend, November 11 & 12, 2023. Over 50 artists will showcase their work in 24 area studious open from 10am-5pm both days. As you can see from event map, three of the participating studios with eight artists are a very easy walk for anyone in our neighborhood:

Market Street Wine is an independent shop for wine, beer, and gourmet products located at 311 East Market Street (the corner of 4th and E. Market) that has been in business since 1979. It is open Monday through Saturday for in-store browsing and it hosts a variety of special events.
