Who we are
This is the website of the Little High Neighborhood Association. All persons residing in the Little High neighborhood are de facto members of the neighborhood association. The website is run by the LHNA board and, to date, is paid for by private contribution. Membership in the LHNA board is open to all neighborhood residents.
What personal data we don’t collect and why we don’t collect it
We value your privacy. More importantly, we value our own time. We’re also, frankly, a bit lazy and this is a volunteer gig so we do not collect any data about our users. We may take a look from time to time at the website’s traffic stats but none of that — or at least none of what we look at — is traceable to individual website visitors.
We simply have no motivation to collect information on our website’s visitors. This website is geared toward providing relevant information to the very small number of people who live in the Little High Neighborhood and, to a lesser extent, to the greater Charlottesville, Va community. The LHNA is a small, all-volunteer organization. We’re not trying to sell anything, so we have no interest in your personal data (which is not to say that you personally are not in fact a very interesting person with much intriguing and unique personal data and a browsing pattern that would place you at least one standard deviation from the norm in a good way). But tracking users is just not our thing. We respect your right to digital privacy. Unleavened, uninterested, and un-curved indifference is our algorithm.
Email list
If you want to join our email list, great! We do ask for your name and address when you join the email list because we want to keep the list to people who reside in the Little High neighborhood or nearby or a few select others.
Cookies
We’re not asking you to accept our cookies. I personally would never give away good cookies. Oatmeal raisin are my favorite. Many people think that’s a boring choice but they’re wrong. Nonetheless, I am open to other kinds of cookies. Snickerdoodles, for example, are also delicious and they travel well. All donations of delicious cookies should be sent to 1144 Meriwether Street.
Volunteer forms
We very occasionally use volunteer sign-up forms, surveys, and what-not. These generally include questions for the purposes of making sure we able to reach you in the event we have important neighborhood news to convey that can’t easily be found elsewhere if at all, solicit suggestions for how we can do better. In circumstances where recruiting volunteers is urgent due to weather, public health, etc, we do reserve the right to share the contact information on specific forms with other legitimate organizations / groups who are doing aid / relief work in and around Charlottesville. If you wish to volunteer strictly for the Little High Neighborhood’s activities and don’t want us to share your contact information with other aid groups, you can indicate that on any current or future volunteer sign up form and your request will be honored.
Objections, criticisms, and complaints should be sent to the Woolen Mills Neighborhood Association.
