Our neighborhood’s world-renowned Summer Backyard Concert series kicks off its 7th year on Sunday, June 7, at 7pm at 1011 Little High Street. Headlining this concert is “Playing for Fun”, a group of seven local musicians playing guitar, mandolin, fiddle, flute, tin whistle, and harmonica. This event is FREE and open to everyone who enjoys good music.
Please note that at all of our backyard concerts and bigger events we pass the hat for the Haven, the multi-resource day shelter and housing resource center in downtown Charlottesville (112 West Market Street). Last summer we raised over $1,000 for the Haven and this year we’re going to try to do even better.
Postscript: if, like me, you know nothing about numerology but you’ve vaguely heard about it, you might have noticed the repetition of the number 7 in all the main facts in this post. According to various internet sources of indeterminate value (hence no link), the number 7 is “universally associated with wisdom, introspection, spiritual awareness, and the desire to understand life’s deepest mysteries.”
Personally, I don’t really know what to make of that but I interpret it to mean this concert will be really good and fun for all. You might also acquire some wisdom and spiritual awareness while you’re there. Being there is the only one sure way to find out.
