CANCELLED due to the weather
We’ll post rescheduling information soon.
The last of our neighborhood concerts is today (Saturday, 9/12) at 4pm in Waverly Milor’s backyard at 1118 Little High Street. We are giving away FREE organic and totally fresh Carpe Donut donuts to everyone who shows up on time. Carpe Donut is a vital local business and we want to support all our local businesses. The only other way to get a FREE donut at this event is to clap appreciatively for the performers.
Today’s lineup includes:
- The Bellwether Players led by Sudi Durland and Ann Salamini. Sudi Durland has been called the Brian Jones (minus the drug, innumerable illegitimate children, etc.) of local Folk and Traditional music due to her talent as a multi-instrumentalist. The Bellwether Players includes singer Katrina Reines and a couple of backup musicians.
- Waverly Milor and Brian Keena. These guys are serious musicians and they do incredible covers of traditional blues and jazz.
- The final group is the Angst City Ramblers, a country-noir-blooze-pop duo that critics call more of an “uno” because of the amazing singing of former child star Jenny Lou Otner. Seriously. You have to hear this woman sing! Here’s a small sample taken from an experimental film by avant-garde cinematographer “Naomi” whose style is to challenge the viewer to think about what they’re seeing by frequently focusing on superfluous background elements.
