Charlottesville’s Leaf Collection Schedule 2025-26

November 9, 2025

Our neighborhood spans two leaf collection zones

It’s a little confusing

Most of the Little High Neighborhood is in the A or orange zone depicted on this map BUT the relatively newly recovered part of the neighborhood (between East Market Street and the railroad tracks on the other side of Water Street — see our About the Little High Neighborhood page for details) — is in the yellow/ochre-ish C zone.

Those of our residents in the yellow ochre-ish C zone will have their first leaf pick up this coming week, November 10-14. The second pickup will be December 15-19, and the final leaf pickup will be January 26-30.

Those of our residents living in the A or orange zone have already had their first leaf pickup. The next leaf collection is scheduled for the week of December 1-5 and our last leaf pickup will be during the week of January 12-16.

Text alert reminders

The City offers text alerts for the curbside collection service. Residents can review collection dates for their homes and choose to “opt in” to receive a reminder text the week prior to leaf collection for their address.   *Message and data rates may apply

Sign up by texting “leaf pickup” and your street address to 434-771-0251

Not sure where to pile your leaves?

The City provides this chart as a guide:

More info

Insomniacs and Charlottesville newcomers should check the city’s website which has a lot more information about the leaf collection process.
