Upcoming Zoning Meetings

August 25, 2021

Cville Plans Together and the Charlottesville Planning Commission are working toward finalizing its drafts of the Comprehensive Plan and the Future Land Use Map (the binding framework upon which more detailed zoning rules will be applied) for final hearings and a City Council vote sometime this October or November. If you want to follow or comment on these issues, there are three upcoming meetings (Aug 31, Sept 1, and Sept 14) you may want to attend.

(1) Planning Commission Work Session – August 31, 5:30pm

Register: Zoom registration link.

The Cville Plans Together team will meet with the Planning Commission for a virtual Work Session on August 31, 2021, at 5:30pm.
At this meeting, CPT will share proposed revisions to the Future Land Use Map and discuss potential revisions to the Land Use, Urban Form, and Historic & Cultural Preservation Chapter.

  • There will NOT be a vote on the Comprehensive Plan or Future Land Use Map at this meeting.
  • A public comment period will be available for those who are interested in speaking.
  • Meeting materials will be available on the City’s website prior to the meeting.

(2) Steering Committee – September 1, 4:30pm

Register: Zoom registration link.

  • The Cville Plans Together team will meet with the Cville Plans Together Steering Committee to discuss revisions to the Comprehensive Plan.
  • A public comment period will be available for those who are interested in speaking.

(3) Planning Commission Meeting – September 14, 5:30pm

Register: the registration link for this meeting is not yet available, but will be posted here.

The Cville Plans Together team will meet with the Planning Commission during their regularly-scheduled September meeting.
At this meeting, CPT and the Planning Commission will discuss the Implementation chapter and gather feedback on revisions to other chapters.

  • There will NOT be a vote on the Comprehensive Plan or Future Land Use Map at this meeting.
  • A public comment period will be available for those who are interested in speaking.
  • Meeting materials will be available on the City’s website prior to the meeting.
