Neighborhood and Charlottesville Invasive Plant Partnership (CHIPP) volunteers will meet on Sunday, April 26, from 1 to 4pm to address the invasive vines that burden the tree canopy along the “headwaters” of Meade Creek behind the homes on E. Jefferson St between 12th St NE and Meade Ave. We’ll meet and get started at the area along 12th St NE between 1201 E. Market St (Pixels) and 208 12th St. NE. Everyone is welcome to join us or stop by to say hello and see what we’re up to!
If you are joining us:
- Sign the volunteer waiver at this link https://linktr.ee/cvillechipp which has additional information including how to recognize and treat invasive vines.
- Email Julia at juliarubarth@gmail.com so we know that you are joining us and can plan for the number volunteers!
- Dress for the weather and the task which will involve walking in the woods or along a slope (sturdy shoes, protective clothing and garden/work gloves), and bring water and tools for the job, if you have them (hand clippers, loppers, pruning saws, hatchets) and please label them. We are likely to have extra tools to loan you.
