Jen Otner is an amazing singer. Jon Rice has a guitar. Together they perform a mix of sad songs combined with really depressing songs. The arts editor of Angsta Pop magazine wrote, “Not since reading the ‘Sorrows of Young Werther’ three times in a row during my exquisitely painful and sumptuously awkward adolescence have I felt such utter desolation! I loved it!” Critical Studies in Alimentary Nihilism and Existentialist Despair wrote in its Nightlife column that “The Angst City Ramblers play a set that is powerful and moving, like a cathartic enema. In other words, it was a great show… Not that it really matters.”
Note: The ACRs ask their audience to double down on their anti-depressants and stay away from sharp objects for at least 24 hours after attending one of their performances.
