The Schedule
The next performance is scheduled for Saturday, September 12 and features the Meriwether Players and the Angst City Ramblers. ACR just finished recording Let It Bleat, a concept album exploring the pastoral themes and the tonal dissonance potentiality of common barnyard animals.
If you are a musician we inadvertently overlooked and you would be willing to do a small performance for the neighborhood, please contact Sumner Brown.

Music Night Wednesday, 7/15
-
July 15th*
Musical Families Night
- 1121 Little High Street at 7pm
- The MNMs (Family instrumental group) — an incredibly talented and lovely family. Their performance on June 23 was cut short by rain, but there is no rain in the forecast at this point for Wednesday so we are all looking forward to seeing their full set.
- Raven & Peter Hunter — a long time folk duo who play some Celtic and some American traditional songs as well as original compositions.
*Please note: The location of this performance has been moved to 1121 Little High Street.
Also, Sudi Durland and Ann Salamini & Friends have rescheduled for Saturday, August 8.
Blues Night is 7/1
901 E. Jefferson (corner of 9th and East Jefferson) at 7pm
7pm – Jack Roy & Wave Milor – Mississippi blues duo
7:25pm – Michael Elswick Quartet – modern & traditional jazz
The Michael Elswick Quartet is Michael Elswick on sax, Bill Edmonds on guitar, Bob Bowen on bass, and David Driving on drums.
Bring your own chair. This event is only going to last for about one hour and it will likely start promptly at 7pm.
Please Practice Social Distancing
Everyone did a great job of social distancing at the first concert, so let’s keep up the good work. These backyard concerts were begun largely in an effort to provide a safe setting so our high risk residents and those who don’t want to take chances could get outside and enjoy the music and the company of their neighbors. So please be respectful of your neighbors and, if you have any doubt about whether you should wear a mask, read this.
Family Music Night Rescheduled
The weather forecast for the bulk of this week is great for ducks and swamp-dwelling creatures but not so good for outdoor performances, so the neighborhood music performance originally planned for this Wednesday (6/17) has been rescheduled.
The new date is Tuesday, June 23 (still at 7pm and still awesome). [Read more…]
